Restaurant Forty1

Forty1 partners with Verde Valley farms, local ranchers, and artisan producers to build menus to showcase the best of Arizona produce, ensuring every plate reflects the best of the Sedona high desert. Arizona-raised beef, local stone fruit, heirloom corn from Hopi and Navajo growers, and wild-foraged herbs share the season menu, rewritten by Chef Kyle Rhodes seasonally to reflect Sedona’s unique elevation-stacked climate.

Farm-to-Table Dining in Sedona

Our approach to fine dining in Sedona leans on technique over trend. Open-fire cooking, house-cured charcuterie, and a dedicated pastry program anchor the culinary experience. The bar program mirrors that philosophy: a rotating cocktail list built around Arizona distillers, a wine list curated for high-desert cuisine, and a reserve selection recognized by Wine Spectator. Plan your day of activities around dinner for the full property experience.

At Restaurant Forty1, reservations are strongly encouraged. Use the booking link below to join us for dinner; breakfast and lunch are walk-in friendly for hotel guests.

Minimum Age: Ambiente is an adults-only property, welcoming guests 18 years of age and older.

Executive Chef Kyle Rhodes

Chef Kyle Rhodes’ culinary journey began at a young age, inspired by his stepmother’s passion for cooking. By 13, he knew his future was in the kitchen, and by 16, he had already stepped into the professional culinary world at Bernard’s Surf in Cocoa Beach.

After honing his skills at Keiser University’s Culinary Program and competing in culinary competitions, Kyle’s career accelerated at Walt Disney World’s Vero Beach Resort, where he was mentored in high-level techniques and kitchen operations. He then took on leadership roles in family-owned establishments, refining his expertise in both cuisine and restaurant management.
His talents led him to Dogfish Head Brewery in Delaware, where he helped open a seafood-focused restaurant before returning to Orlando to oversee one of Disney Springs’ busiest kitchens. Seeking a deeper creative experience, he joined Norman Van Aken’s team at Norman’s Orlando, contributing to the restaurant’s recognition as a James Beard Foundation Semi-Finalist for Outstanding Restaurant in America in 2019.

Kyle then expanded his expertise in large-scale banquets at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin before playing a key role in opening the Swan Reserve. His career later took him to the Bahamas with Atlantis Resort, then back to the U.S. to lead culinary operations at the Westin in Savannah, GA. Returning to Norman’s Orlando, he helped the restaurant achieve numerous accolades, including being named Best New Restaurant in Florida by Southern Living Magazine and Best in Orlando by Orlando Magazine in 2024.

Now, as Executive Chef at Forty1, Kyle brings his wealth of experience, leadership, and creativity to deliver an elevated Sedona dining experience.
